Centerline Success Sports

For the past 20 years, Sheri Dumonceaux, a Grand Prix rider/trainer from Alberta,Canada has been training and teaching dressage.  “From early on, I realized that the riding was as much a mind sport as a physical one” says Sheri. “I could get lots of riding help but not so much mental coaching”.

Watching people struggle with fears both at home and at the shows, Sheri really saw that the area of “the mind game of dressage”, needed a lot of work.

Becoming a life coach transformed her approach to many things. The great thing about this type of coaching is that it comes from a place of strengths and positive attributes of a person, not negatives and what we are not good at.  Through dialog and process, Sheri helps the rider recognize who they really are, what strengths they do have and what is important to them.  These revelations, really impact how they view their riding both physically and mentally, as well as providing techniques and processes to aid in nerves and tension whey they strike. “I have seen lovely riders on good horses fall apart at the shows” says Sheri.

Sheri can work with groups or on an individual basis. Usually she starts with a clinic type scenario so she can see the person ride and discuss their feelings while on the horse. After that, the dialog and process engage to take the rider to their personal best.

Coaching can last 3-6 months, depending on the rider, usually with 3 sessions a month, either on the phone or in person.  “I have seen some amazing transformations and revelations with riders”. One student went from hardly ever getting a ribbon to being a Provincial and Regional champion.  Anything is possible!  This process can be applied to any sport or life challenge as well, both individually and as a team.
